# The stock market is a joke ## 2025-12-21 Is it me, or is the stock market completely out of touch w/ reality? Or at least, the reality up to 99% of us live everyday. American indices are way overvalued - something good happens, they go up. Something bad happens, they... still go up!? Alternatively, something bad happens, they dip a tiny bit and then rebound to new records the next day. It's maddening. ## The disparity If you're like most Americans (incl. most American gemi- nauts, I foolishly assume), you're seeing your dollar go less & less far every month. Food, meds, bills of almost every kind just keep going up. Companies you do business with, or perhaps (used to) work for, keep touting record profits to their lemming investors on Wall St. while lay- ing off double digit %s of their workforce and increasing prices. But to the investors and Donald Tariff, the eco- nomy is booming! It's like two different worlds. ## The ugly truth It is not booming, the stock market is just in a giant bub- ble and every boomer's 401K is going to take a massive hit when it finally pops. How can the economy be booming when rent is $3000+ for a shoebox apartment in most cities? Or when gold has surpassed $4000? Or when the Outback, Ruby Tuesdays, and TGI Fridays are closing many branches? (so the Sun claims. look it up.) The writing is on the wall. I believe the best way to prepare for the coming storm is to buy gold & silver. Yes, gold is wicked expensive per oz. But you can still buy a few grams of gold for <$1000! Just have some physical gold/silver, or even gold/silver ETF holdings in the stock market. Yes, the one part of the stock market that still reflects reality - precious metal prices. Stocks are overvalued, indices and their ETFs are overvalued, and don't even look at the currency futures. When fiat curr- encies including the dollar see their demise, you'll be glad you have assets with real value. Not worthless paper. The AI "sector" just has money going around in a circular manner, being of real benefit to almost no one. The bubble will pop one day, and reality will hit the mainstream media and lem- ming investors like a cement truck.
